Vision and Values
The Burdekin Christian College exists to equip children from a Christian worldview to become
people who will positively influence their families, communities and nations in a Christ-like way.
To provide education from a Christian World View that develops future
citizens of character, wisdom and discipline.
WE SEE A WORLD:
Where families of all shapes and sizes are coming together in community.
Where children experience family shaped by Christian values.
Where families see life as an adventure that integrates educational, social, spiritual and cultural contexts.
Where children learn they are valued, but also learn to value others.
Where the wonder of God’s creation comes to life as we journey together.
Where children are engaged, challenged, supported and empowered to grow.
WE SEE A SCHOOL:
Celebrating the uniqueness of every child.
Where strong friendships and collaborations are developed.
Inspiring children and their families to dream and then supporting them to achieve their dreams.
Where every child can learn and love learning.
Where children journey through life together, sharing their trials and their triumphs.
Where children learn to receive and share God’s love. Treating others as they would like to be treated.
WE SEE A FUTURE:
Where strong families form the foundations of society.
Built on strong leaders of integrity.
Where people feel they belong and can actively make a difference in their community both local or global.
About which our children are passionate, hopeful and enthusiastic.
Where we are loving life and each other.
Where the journey is just as exciting as the destination.
These belief values arise from our relationship with God, His Word and the environment we live in:
FAMILY AND COMMUNITY
People, relationships and love matter.
INTIMACY WITH GOD
Intimacy with God is a constant walk of faith.
Maximization of the College’s physical and human resources in a
way that is physically, socially and economically sustainable.
THE WISDOM OF THE BIBLE
Scripture is our reference for all aspects of life.
The College’s motto is
"CHARACTER, WISDOM AND DISCIPLINE
FOR TOMORROW'S LEADERS"
The BCC CARE values are a simple way for students, staff and families to relate to the
culture of the College. These values describe both how staff and students conduct themselves
as members of the College, and the qualities of character that are believed necessary for each
student when they leave our College to participate in complex life roles.
I respect others. “In everything, do to others what you would have them do to you.” (Matthew 7:12)
I can do it. “I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13)
I can overcome. “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)
I do my best. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.”
